Grandma
I have been looking through some old pictures and came across some of my Grandmother I took 10 years ago for my photo class at ICP. She was so beautiful, unique and fun. Cheers to Barbara Klebanow!
WPPI
Yesterday was a full packed day at the WPPI event in Las Vegas. Matei and I listened to three wonderful speakers: Jerry Ghionis, Elizabeth Messina and Jose Villa. I have to say, I was most inspired by Elizabeth Messina. She has a fantastic eye for photojournalism. In fact, Matei and I cried during one of her slideshows, that's how moving it was. Please enjoy some of the photos from the convention today:)
Las Vegas Restaurants – MGM Grand
I am at the WPPI event in Vegas, and have been overly inspired by the architecture of the restaurants at the MGM Grand. Here are some pictures from Shibuya (with a great Saki collection), Fiamma and the 3 Michelin Star restaurant Joel Robuchon.
Beowulf
I was lucky enough to go sailing on Beowulf. An 80 foot boat, that is aluminum on the outside, and pure wood on the inside. It was created this way to deceive pirates and looters. This boat has been around the world twice and from the outside it doesn't look like anything special. The inside is a different story. Thanks Dave for taking me sailing! Hope you enjoy the photos.
Vintage Glamour Bridal Show
Today I went to the Vintage Bridal Show at the UCLA Ackerman Ballroom. There were some great booth and vendors there. Please enjoy some of the pictures from today. A special thanks to Perfect Wedding Design, Pink Cupcake Weddings, Wood Ranch Golf Club, lettemacarons, hellokismet, candybarcouture and Happy Fudge and dgp for doing such a wonderful job!
Autry Center awards the survivors from Angel Island for the Maverick Prize
The Autry Center awarded the Maverick Prize this year to the Asian immigrants of Angel Island. Angel Island was the "Ellis Island" of the West and had over one million Asian immigrants trying to enter the US. Yet, the Chinese Exclusion Act of 1882, had many immigrants waiting years to enter, some left alone without friends and family. It was extremely heartwarming to hear some stories of these men and women who spent years of their lives without family. Here are some pictures from Wednesday's award ceremony.
Dave, Emmy, Buster and Lisa
I'm so happy with my birthday present Dave gave me: a bike lift and he even hung it on my wall when he was sick with the flu! Lisa came over for some dinner and brought her new puppy Emmy. Here are some pictures from the evening.
